I am a warrior
In the battleground of life
I struggle really hard
To save the breath of life
I was trapped at the enemy’s gate
Up close I saw the faces that I hate
I had little hope I’d escape
Shed blood from up my nape
The enemy caught me
Was to take the life out of me
I closed my eyes; I awaited death
When I opened them, I was safe in my bed
So I became a dreamer
Wished someday to become a winner,
For years I was lost in thought
Imagined victory in every war I fought
I woke up from sleep a loser
Defeat I accepted at first I was bitter
But in that state I realized my fight wasn’t over
For winning a battle sometimes means a sweet surrender.
I love this one. I remember the time you presented it in class and told us that you wrote it. Thumbs up ma’am. You really inspired me. Thank You.
Thanks Karla, it was one of my greatest pleasures to have shared them with you.. Thank you for being so positive about it. 🙂
