He thought I was pretty.

But one day he saw a girl prettier than me

He thought I was sweet
Said he’d never leave.

Then I noticed this MAN
I didn’t find HIM but HE found me
I was no longer pretty, not even sweet.
But HE has loved me and still does…
HE needed no word from me.

I grew tired and weary
My heart faint and sickly
My eyes just but shadows
of their once joyful sparkle.
But this MAN still loves me.

I was about to cross the line between light and dark
Flashed before my eyes the life that I was about to leave behind
But my life was spared
HE gave HIS own life instead.

It was then that I realized
This MAN has been there all this time.
HE loved me, no reason I could imagine
I was pretty and sweet
I was ugly and old
This MAN never left me.
Now I know I am loved.
