The Necessity of a Diary (Part three)

August 21, Thursday

Dear Diary,

I’ve just arrived home after three hours of training and an hour of watching (in hiding) the glee club practice. I couldn’t get caught by my teammates lurking around the auditorium and watching the glee club practice. If they did, I’m sure my title as team captain would be revoked.

I’m exhausted but I couldn’t wash the smile offmy face as I conjure the image of Amie standing at the middle of the stage practicing her solo part of Story of My Life- the way she cutely opens her mouth and how she always fidgets with her glasses or pulls at the hem of her checkered polo showing how nervous she was which only made her even more adorable. But when she started singing, her voice simply took me to an entirely different realm, so serene and beautiful, I caught myself at the farthest corner at the back of the auditorium closing my eyes and smiling. My heart was doing these somersaults as I drank in her amazing voice. It was a feeling like no other.

I ran ahead of the glee club right before they were dismissed by Ms. Velasco. I ran straight to the front gate of the university and bought fried peanuts from the vendor by the guard house. I started popping them to my mouth, taking my time and acting as if I had been standing there for a long time already because at my peripheral, I could see Amie coming. I started walking towards the gate at the same time Amie passed by the peanut cart that I “accidentally” hit her elbow. It was funny because she did not drop her books when I hit her. She only did when she looked up and saw that it was me who accidentally hit her.

For the first time, I saw a hint of nervousness from her smile when I was helping her pick her books up, especially when I “accidentally” touched her hand when we were picking up the same book. I swear I saw a look of confusion in her eyes when she looked at me and then suddenly she said, “I forgot something at the auditorium.” And before I could tell her to wait up so I could tag along, she ran so fast without looking back. I tried to wait up for a little while till she came back but it was taking her so long, I thought maybe she used the back gate, so, I decided to go home.

Hi! I'm Aj from the Philippines. Obviously I love to read and write and from years of experience I have learned that when you love something so much, you would do it absolutely for free so here I am writing stuff for all people to see in the hopes that at least one or maybe two souls could benefit or get little inspiration from what they will read from this blog. Enjoy and spread the love! ;)

  1. Haha, omg! I did write this myself, Birch but I don’t think this deserves a standing ovation. If you’ll scroll back through my old posts, you’ll see Part one by, Jake’s first entry and part two, Amanda’s first entry. This would be Jake’s second diary entry. Thank you for taking time to read this my friend. ❤
