“There are some socks that shouldn’t be washed by your mom.” – Very, very true! Lol.
Honestly, I don’t feel like the book offered anything new. The characters are diverse and interesting but I’m not quite too attached with anyone of them except maybe with Leah. I think the story line and even the playful mystery are predictable. Somehow, I’ve already guessed Blue’s identity early on in the story but what’s not to enjoy about two guys corresponding and falling for each other even though their correspondence is anonymous?
I think what made the book likable is its honest and straight to the point writing style, the light, comic take on coming out and being comfortable with one’s sexuality and the heartwarming messages about friendship, relationships and family. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie. Hopefully it’ll be as entertaining as the book.
I thought about reading this before because of all the hype it got when it was first released. Somehow something pulls me back. I’ve only read 4 reviews about it and so far, they’re good. I’m not aware it is being made into a movie. Thanks for the heads up!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad review on this book, Ate Claire. I liked it just enough but it wasn’t as great as I was expecting either. Hope you like it better though. 🙂
