Review: Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills

I think I can now rely on Ms. Emma Millsย for a good story of friendship with characters that grow on you. I remember it’s the same with her other book I’ve read, “This Adventure Ends”. At first I wasn’t sure I would like it but as I read on, it becomes more and more entertaining, funny, and heartwarming.

The dialogues are often hilarious and relatable. I really appreciateย Claudia‘s character. I like that she feels just average on her personal standards, knows that she’s not a special snowflake but she doesn’t worry about it. In fact she’s generally kindhearted and warm to most people. It’s like she gets people even the awful ones. I wish I was like her. Her friendship with her childhood best friend and with her new friend is adorable. I just have a soft spot for girls who cackle. Lol. I like that she gets what she deserves in the end and realizes she’s worthy of great things like an effervescent guy whose eyes will need you to Google map to get out of (that’s how funny the writing is).

The story features a closer more intrinsic and hearty look at school plays, boy band fandom, and gaming relatably and I completely enjoyed it. Perhaps some of the characters are a bit overdone but I’m not really bothered much. Overall an enjoyable YA read that’s got a bit of everything in it.

Hi! I'm Aj from the Philippines. Obviously I love to read and write and from years of experience I have learned that when you love something so much, you would do it absolutely for free so here I am writing stuff for all people to see in the hopes that at least one or maybe two souls could benefit or get little inspiration from what they will read from this blog. Enjoy and spread the love! ;)

  1. This was my first Emma Mills book, my gateway to her greatness. Gosh, I loved this book so much. I wanted Claudia’s family to adopt me, because they were fantastic. And Gideon was such a sweet, soft boy. Love him!

    1. Mine was This Adventure Ends but I liked this one just a little bit better. Claudia is very cool and so is her family. ๐Ÿฅฐ
