Compared to Beautiful Bastard, Hating You/Dating You is actually wholesome. Not that there are a few detailed sex scenes but at least they are way more comfortable to read and definitely less cringy. I do like that there’s an actual plot and that the main characters have good personalities.
I enjoyed the war between Carter and Evie at the workplace. Now that’s what you call a sexy, hilarious tension, when they’re actually using their wits to get back at each other instead of just ripping each other’s clothes off like they did in Beautiful Bastard. Lol.
Their competition started harmlessly but as the stakes went higher, they became meaner even though they still obviously care about each other. I was looking forward to the next prank the other is planning against the other. Lol. Personally though I’m team Evie not just because I’m a girl but some of Carter’s moves are really asshole-ish.
Overall, I’m very happy and entertained and I find the conclusion also very satisfying. Indeed, this IS a legit fun and sexy read. Now I look forward to the other standalones by the authors.
