Quick Review: Are You there, God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume

4 out of 5 stars

It got me curious knowing there is a controversy surrounding this little middle grade book so I decided to read it. I now understand why it would be a sensitive read especially back in the seventies bit there’s nothing highly provocative in it except for the topic on menstruation and religion. It’s actually a very genuine and relatable read, also often very funny.

“I don’t use deodorant yet. I don’t think people start to smell bad until they’re at least twelve. So I’ve still got a few months to go.”

Guess what she did the moment she turned 12? Hilarious!

“We must- we must- we must increase our bust!”
Do it thirty-five times a day and I promise you’ll see the results.”

Boy, do I relate even though I didn’t see any result. Hahaha! This is significantly better than her YA book I read, “Forever”. Middle Grade books are really something.

Hi! I'm Aj from the Philippines. Obviously I love to read and write and from years of experience I have learned that when you love something so much, you would do it absolutely for free so here I am writing stuff for all people to see in the hopes that at least one or maybe two souls could benefit or get little inspiration from what they will read from this blog. Enjoy and spread the love! ;)
